People + Technology
I'm based full-time in Bellingham, Washington - the best place I've ever lived.
Where else have I been? Moscow, ID; Seattle, WA; Philadelphia, PA; Syracuse, NY; Washington, DC; and San Francisco, CA, among other stops.
I am a full-time Cybersecurity Engineer for the United States Department of the Treasury.
I have previously worked for the United States Senate (Sergeant at Arms) doing a comprehensive cybersecurity review.
I helped detectives handle cases in court for the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office Dangerous Drug Offenders Unit.
I've worked for startups, started (and killed) a startup of my own, and worked for multiple higher-education institutions.
My personal mission is to help use technology to improve the lives of real human beings. That starts with making sure security is an enabler - powering anything you use technology to do. Let me handle the security, you take care of everything else.
I have an undergraduate degree from the University of Washington, where I majored in the Comparative History of Ideas, and spent time rowing for UW.
I did my graduate work at Syracuse University, where I earned an MS in Information Management and Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS) in Information Security Management.
Liquid enthusiast (coffee, beer, rain). Anything outside. Anything local. Family time.
